Biography

My name is Josefina Sanner. I was born in Värmland, a landscape of forests and lakes in the middle of Sweden.

When I was a kid I was a dreamer, who lived in my own world. I made up stories, poems and sang songs. I grew up in a musical family and we used to sing and play instruments together. My father sang and played the piano.

As a teenager I sang in choirs and played cello in orchestras. It was when I found my fathers worn out record “God Bless The Child” by Billie Holiday that I knew I wanted to be a singer.

So much music has inspired me over the years... From Mozart to Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone to Ennio Morricone, Neil Young to Annie Lennox, Shawn Colvin to Keith Jarret, Coldplay to Rufus Wainwright, The Beatles to Bach... I love music which is rich in melody with words that move you.

Playing live is a real passion of mine. When I play it's sometimes with a band and sometimes solo. I sing, play guitar, cello and piano. I’ve played in Sweden, Denmark, Germany and U.K and I look forward to playing many more concerts.

Love... Josefina
